ADD and Oppositional Behaviors
ADD is a condition that causes inattention, impulsive behavior and mood instability. Individuals who have struggled with ADD are familiar with patterns of repetitive failure, and ongoing criticism for “not following through,” “not completing tasks,” and “always being lazy”. Although ADD is sometimes most effectively treated with medication, that is not the only solution and necessary treatment. Therapy and ADD Coaching provides ways to compensate for attentional difficulties and increase self esteem and awareness of talent and capacity for success. Therapy and coaching helps ADD sufferers to develop greater organizational skills and ways to compensate for what we call executive function deficits.
Through both therapy, coaching and psycho-education I can help you develop a vision for success. In addition to being trained as a therapist and addictions counselor I am also trained as an ADD Coach.
I can work closely and in conjunction with psychiatrist and educational professionals. Please contact me for more information at (508) 419-7882.
